A PROJECT FOR THE PLANET

Fishipedia, a tool for awareness

Fishipedia aims to share information about living organisms with the general public.

With free access to knowledge and an intuitive interface, we strive to raise awareness about environmental issues related to freshwater and oceans.

We hope to spark curiosity and inspire wonder to encourage everyone to explore the world and discover the riches of Nature.

The objectives of Fishipedia

RAISE AWARENESS by providing free and intuitive access to information on aquatic biodiversity and associated human activities.

CONNECT audiences who share a passion for aquatic life, such as divers, aquarium enthusiasts, and scientists.

INNOVATE by developing new learning tools and participatory science methods.

PROTECT species and ecosystems by publishing independent surveys and participating in conservation projects, promoting sustainable practices in aquatic environments.

The protection of aquatic wildlife and conservation projects

Aware of the fragility of ecosystems, the Fishipedia team is involved in various conservation and awareness projects. We support the development of the Urku Aquarium in Peru and coordinate the Yaku Nawi awareness project with the Akangau Jungle team in the Amazon region of Ecuador.

We indicate the IUCN protection status of the species featured in our profiles. This serves as an indicator of the health of populations in their natural environment.

We support and encourage individual initiatives, such as beach clean-ups. We condemn the collection of protected species and applaud the creation of reserves that allow ecosystems to recover.
